The vault takes shape
Templates, calendar and databases: Newral gains the tools to shape everyday work without giving up open files.
- Visual note templates, with properties and date variables, let you start from a structure without rewriting the same things.
- A complete calendar: month, week and day views, note-linked events and direct movement through time.
- Databases: typed tables, filters, sorting, turning a row into a note, currency formats and per-column calculations.
- A settings overhaul: one clear window to organise the interface, writing, daily note, trash and maps.
- The GitHub OAuth redirect has been hardened.
- Several responsiveness and visual-consistency adjustments in settings and confirmation flows.

Nothing gets lost
Deleting no longer destroys anything, the home page is yours to arrange, and the vault can be read through time.
- A trash inside the vault: a note, a map or a folder is moved rather than erased, and comes back exactly where it was. Permanent deletion is now only offered from the trash.
- A home page you arrange yourself: recent notes, bookmarks, followed tags and maps, a pinned folder or note, dragged and stretched with the mouse like spreadsheet cells.
- The timeline view: the whole vault on a single thread, where hovering one document lights up the ones linked to it elsewhere in time.
- Rebuilt vault filters: the sidebar narrows in one gesture to your followed tags and your bookmarks.
- Detaching a note from the Linked notes panel was impossible.
- The documentation could not be reached from inside the app.
- In a GitHub setup, creation dates were reset every time the vault was opened.
- Performance improvements.
V0.7.0

Day to day
Write without deciding where: the daily note, checkboxes, and a search that actually reads your notes.
- The daily note: one button, and today's dated note opens. No title to invent, no folder to pick before writing.
- Checkboxes in notes and map cards, nestable, written as standard markdown and therefore readable by any other editor.
- Search now goes through the content of your notes, not just their titles.
- Performance improvements.
V0.6.0

On the go
Newral fits in your hand: a thumb-first mobile interface, and images join notes and maps.
- A full mobile interface: page-based navigation instead of tabs, a thumb-reachable dock, and the whole vault usable by touch.
- Images arrive in notes and maps: drag, paste or insert a PNG/JPEG, stored in the vault and never embedded in the markdown.
- An open-redirect flaw in GitHub sign-in (OAuth) was fixed.
V0.5.0
22 July 2026
Maps
A new format joins the vault: the block whiteboard.
- A new format: Maps! A block whiteboard stored directly in the user's folder.
- GitHub sync slowed the user down when creating a folder or moving a note.
V0.4.0

- A /table command to insert a three-column table into notes.
- Note headers, with their properties.
- Backlinks are now dynamic and follow note renames.
